Reebok Question Sparty
With today being the start of the 2023 NCAA tournament, it is only fitting that we are seeing some sneakers from classic tournament moments return. This year marks 23 years since the Michigan State Spartans brought home their second national championship, and Reebok is bringing back the shoe they did it in, the Reebok Question. Back in 2021 we got the low top version of the Question in the Green Toe colorway and now we are seeing a proper retro.
In 2000, Tom Izzo was in his 5th year as the Spartans head coach, they won both the Big Ten regular season championship and the Big 10 Tourney. As a result of their success they were the number 1 seed in the midwest region. Behind the talent and leadership of senior players like Mateen Cleaves and Mo Peterson, Junior Guard Charlie Bell and the freshman sensation, Jason Richardson, the Spartans made a historical run to earn the first national championship since the days of Magic Johnson and Greg “Special K” Kelser.
The Sparty Questions have a white base for the upper and a green toe. The vector on the side and tongue is also green. To top it all off they have an icy clear sole. You can cop them on Reebok.com for $170.
In the years since Tom Izzo has made 25 consecutive NCAA tournament appearances and Sparty has become a Nike school but their days in Reebok will forever live in infamy.
